As Course Co-ordinator I was in charge of Coordinate conferences to ensure the smooth conduct of weekly training. Co-ordinate conferences to resource, plan and program future career course up to two years in advance. Coordinate bookings and use of facilities for training purposes including safety and specialist advice to the Defence Materiel Organisation who would implement changes, including external support for all courses conducted. Teach comprehensive report writing, risk management and safety to a variety of trainees from a variety of backgrounds. Develop and deliver training Curriculum. Provide advice and recommendations on policy changes to senior management. Provide Quality Assurance to ensure staff provide the highest quality of training. Provide mentoring to staff, in addition to formal performance appraisals and assisted in the staff’s professional career development. Present professional and well structured presentations.

I successfully implemented, coordinated and delivered training of new MOD systems to 800 personnel on Op Telic 9 in difficult and at times high pressure situations. During this time I also trailed and integrated several new weapon systems and surveillance equipment.

During my 10 years service in an Infantry Battalion I progressed to the rank of Corporal. I served in a rifle section for 3 Years before moving in to Machine gun Platoon. I gained the rank of LCpl and was appointed Machine Gun section second in command during this time I served on operations in Bosnia and Belfast. I Gained promotion after completing section commanders battle course in Brecon. I was in command of a Machine gun section for 2 years prior to taking up post as a recruit training instructor at the Army Training Regiment Winchester where I was awarded best section commander 2 years running before transferring to the Small Arms School Corps

Major Achievements

  • Kevin successfully coordinated and managed 12 leadership development courses for the Ministry of Defence (MOD). This included training analysis, resource management, mentoring and instruction. He achieved this within budget and resource constraints. He coordinated and liaised with a variety of military and civilian organisations to achieve outstanding results
  • Kevin successfully trained 505 managers from low to middle management for the MOD. This included report writing, personnel appraisals, health and safety instructions, risk assessments and final written reports. He achieved this through an excellent knowledge of presentation techniques, mentoring, training development and organisational skills. He was rewarded for his outstanding results by being promoted to middle management within the organisation.
  • Successfully re-wrote defence safety instructions which achieved a more organised, developed and safer training Curriculum
  • Kevin successfully implemented, coordinated and delivered training of new MOD systems to 800 personnel in difficult and at times high pressure situations.
